(SSR) Blog

I have been reading two books out side of school. My go to book, meaning the one I read on the train or while doing laundry is the drivers book in hopes of passing the test on  the 6 after all I believe this could really be the day I pass it. I have also been reading a book by Traci L. Jones titled "standing against the wind".
This book thus far is a really good book. it is about this girl who is 13. Recently moved from Georgia to Chicago. Her mother is in jail and doesn't really have a connection with her sister. she lives with her aunts and gets bully at her new school even though she is extremely smart and soft- spoken.  As of right now she is excited about applying to a scholarship that will allow her to leave Georgia. she has also started touring a little boy from her building and help raise her little cousins as well. what seems to be the problem as of right now is her hair. she leaves it natural and the others at school make fun of her but even more than that she is alone her escape in the class room.

(free write) six word story

Here goes my free write or whatever it may be called. To be honest I really don’t know what to write, So here is a really short story. Are you ready?

“We’re all trying to forget someone.”

Short and straight to the point, right? Well many people may read this and each respond in different ways. Me for example though of that one person I just wish I can shred from my memories. A couple of people came to mind a little after, but that one person remain on the top of the list. As for the others I have learn to grow from and appreciate them being in my life. But this one person, it is just a constant struggle to forget. His voice, the way he walks and thinks it just makes me disgusted.

I have tried talking to him and just trying to work things out but that man is not just supposed to be in my life. For example on my birthday he promise to get me a gift anything I wanted. I asked him to cover for my prom including my dress. He agreed, later on he brought my little brother the latest iPad and went on vacation with his girl. Then said that he didn’t say I can go to my senior trip as if he even had a saying in my decision. He also said he would not pay from my prom because he doesn’t want me to attend that either. So as of that day he will no longer be attending my graduation and we have once again stop talking. So much for short story, but I wonder for me it’s my father whom I try to forget, how about for you?

blog of march 11 (CRR) "The heart of Darkness"

Okay I am at last getting used to this whole blog and comment business. 250 words or more, well I’m still working on it. For this week we have to write about something we are reading or discussing in class. So on that note I will talk about the class new novel. It’s called “The Heart of Darkness”

This book is so far really rad I was really captured by the image of the sun setting and all the colors it displaces like the red and pink and orange. In my personal imagination I picture this guy with a suit and tie drinking tea among others that look similar to him. From my understanding this book is a story within a story. There’s this guy who is telling his story to a group of guys. We’re not quite there yet however as of right now they are just waiting to go to London I believe.

Although this book is complex when it comes to the word choice, at least for me it is, I am enjoying it I like that we write journal entries it allows me to understand what’s going on more. I still want to know how exactly is it so dark? To be honest I am actually waiting for something important or interesting to happen.
